We are deeply honored to announce that our Executive Director, Dr. Sandy Ezepue, has been recognized with the prestigious Denise Brooks Health Equity Champion Award from the Alliance For Healthier Communities in Ontario. This award holds special significance for our organization, as it bears the name of our beloved former Executive Director, Denise Brooks, who suddenly and tragically passed away in 2021. 

The Denise Brooks Health Equity Award celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to poverty reduction, advancing health equity and social justice, while demonstrating a strong commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism. It is profoundly meaningful that Dr. Ezepue, who continues Denise's legacy of leadership at Hamilton Urban Core CHC, has been chosen to receive this honor.

Like Denise Brooks before her, Dr. Ezepue consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to social justice and health equity through her visionary leadership in advancing impactful programs and advocacy efforts. Her dedication to serving the community and championing the values that Denise held dear makes this recognition particularly poignant.
