Hamilton Urban Core Provides Update on HART Hub Residential Treatment and Recovery Program

Hamilton, ONSeptember 2, 2025 – Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre has provided an update on the planned Residential Treatment and Recovery program at 276 Aberdeen Avenue, part of Ontario’s provincial HART Hub initiative.

The program will offer short-term, abstinence-based treatment and recovery services for individuals facing substance use challenges, supported by a team of nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, treatment and recovery counsellors, life redesign coaches, and other health service providers.

The centre emphasized that the facility will be drug, alcohol, and smoke-free, with 24/7 on-site staff and security to ensure safety for both residents and the surrounding neighbourhood. “Neighbourhood safety, transparency, and collaboration remain our top priorities”. “We are committed to ongoing dialogue with residents, local partners, and elected officials to ensure the program strengthens the community.”

Hamilton Urban Core confirmed that required permits and approvals are in progress with the City of Hamilton. Once approvals are finalized, the centre will host a Neighbourhood Open House Engagement Session in partnership with residents, community partners, and local elected representatives to provide more details and hear directly from residents.
