CLIENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT PERSON

 (Fulltime)

The Administrative Support Person serves as a champion of the Hamilton Urban Core’s mission and vision and works in a manner that is consistent with the Centre’s values, beliefs, core competencies and commitment to quality in service. The Administrative Support Person is an essential member of the client-centered, inter-professional, multidisciplinary team of health providers at Hamilton Urban Core. The Administrative Support Person will work with other members of the Centre’s teams to effectively and efficiently serve clients and communities using responsive and innovative approaches to services and service delivery framed by health equity and the social determinants of health.

The Administrative Support Person provides administrative support functions and maintains various office systems and procedures related to the ID Clinic and supporting the Community Health Programs Team.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Relevant education and experience working in fast-paced, health and/or community-based setting
  • Experience in general office procedures and/or business administration
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a high level of efficiency through administrative systems and practices
  • Excellent organizational skills, high degree of accuracy in work and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
  • Good written and spoken communication skills and problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the barriers and issues impacting on people and their families or supports

  • Demonstrated experience of working within an anti-racist, cultural sensitivity/appropriate framework
  • Demonstrated experience working with social media and website templates

YOUTH WELLNESS WORKER

(6 Months Contract with Possibility of Contract Extension)

Hamilton Urban Core is a thriving inner city health centre and a leader in the provision of high quality primary health services and health promotion programs. Our comprehensive health services are delivered through a dynamic team of multidisciplinary, inter-professional health providers. As an inner city health centre our client populations include individuals and families with chronic and complex health and social conditions, many of who are living in poverty.

The Youth Wellness Worker serves as a champion of the Hamilton Urban Core’s mission and vision and works in a manner that is consistent with the Centre’s values, beliefs, core competencies and commitment to quality in service. The Youth Wellness Worker is an essential member of the client-centered, inter-professional, multidisciplinary team of health providers at Hamilton Urban Core.

The Youth Wellness Worker will work with other members of the Centre’s teams to effectively and efficiently serve clients and communities using responsive and innovative approaches to services and service delivery that are framed by health equity and the social determinants of health. The Youth Wellness Worker counsels with emphasis on mental wellness and health promotion and works with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health and well-being. Individual and group services may be provided at the Centre, or in the community.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Direct experience working with refugee and racialized youth
  • Degree or Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from a community college or university, and or experience providing therapeutic recreational programming or services
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, planning, executing and evaluating recreational activities and therapeutic programs for youth.
  • Direct service delivery experience in the community services sector with a working knowledge of community resources
  • Strong understanding of screening and assessment practices using established standardized measures and approaches
  • Knowledge of and experience with youth who have survived trauma
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant counseling and assessment techniques
  • Well-developed interpersonal, counseling, oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of culturally safe therapeutic options for children and youth who are living with trauma or poor mental health
  • Commitment to the anti-racism, anti-oppression and equity principles at Hamilton Urban Core
  • Working knowledge of computers and relevant software
  • Relevant education and experience
