At Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre (HUCCHC), our Black Health Programmes are designed to improve health and wellbeing for Black individuals and families in Hamilton through services rooted in cultural safety, equity, and an Africentric lens.
Our Black Health Team is comprised of social workers, health and wellness counsellors, and case management staff who are dedicated to serving the Black community.
We recognise the longstanding disparities Black people face in accessing health services. That’s why HUCCHC works closely with community health organisations to address social determinants of health and combat Anti-Black racism in healthcare.
Our mission:
To provide culturally safe, accessible, and effective services that support mental, physical, and emotional wellness.
Our vision:
Equitable access to care for Black individuals—eliminating disparities across health, education, and child welfare sectors to achieve better outcomes for all.
