As the inaugural Executive Director of Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre, Denise J. Brooks was a pioneering leader whose passion, vision, and dedication helped shape the foundation of our organization. With a deep commitment to health equity, the social determinants of health, social justice, and community-led care, Denise championed services that meet the needs of our most vulnerable populations.

Her impact is woven into every aspect of our work, including the design of our programs and services and the partnerships forged to address the barriers faced by marginalized and racialized communities. Denise’s legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the systems she built, and the communities and individuals served.
